Dr. Ruth Kane
Ruth Kane is full professor and Director of Graduate Studies in the Faculty of Education, uOttawa and Director of the Centre for Research on Educational and Community Services (CRECS), a bi-faculty center that collaborates with educational, social service, and community sectors to improve the well-being of vulnerable populations. She is co-Director of Equity Knowledge Network and principal investigator in a five-year SSHRC-funded study of how school boards, teachers, and students take up citizenship within urban schools. Her most recent ArcticNet-funded research in collaboration with Dr. Kathy Snow (UPEI) and Inuit researchers, examines the landscape and sustainability of Inuit teacher education.
